The investment glossary presents straight-forward definitions plus key related topics and links to other articles that should be of interest.

Definition
Mezzanine Finance is a combination of debt and equity financing and used commonly to expand the growth of a company or development. As a result it protects the lender by giving them the option to convert the loan into partial ownership if the loan is not paid back within the time agreed, and is quicker to raise and structure because it can be shown on a companies balance sheet.
